This work is usually part of larger projects in fields like artificial intelligence, machine learning, or computer vision, where accurately annotated images are crucial for training algorithms. The job may require familiarity with specialized software tools and a keen attention to detail. Annotators play a critical role in helping computers 'see' and understand images by providing clear and consistent labels. Often, these positions are found in research centers, data collection facilities, or companies specializing in AI development.

What are some of the common challenges faced by Live In Image Annotation professionals, and how can they be addressed?

Live In Image Annotation professionals often encounter challenges such as maintaining high accuracy while working with large volumes of data, meeting tight deadlines, and handling ambiguous images that require careful judgment. Job description

Deliver diagnostic excellence-producing high-quality mammography images with precision, compassion, and confidence while making every patient feel seen, respected, and cared for.
At SimonMed, mammography is one of the most consequential things we do. Our Mammography Technologists are essential to delivering the advanced outpatient imaging our patients depend on-and in this modality, the image you produce, the compression you apply, and the way you speak to a patient who is nervous or in pain all matter deeply.
From screening and diagnostic mammograms to tomosynthesis, this role ensures every exam meets the highest clinical standards with genuine human care at the center.
We are looking for a tech who takes pride in technical precision, thrives in a fast-paced but supportive environment, and understands the weight and purpose of this work. If you find meaning in early detection, value efficient workflows and advanced technology, and want to grow within a collaborative team that holds itself to a higher standard-this is where you belong.
What You Bring
Precision and clinical expertise: You perform screening and diagnostic mammography-including tomosynthesis-in full compliance with ACR, MQSA, and facility protocols. Your positioning is accurate, your compression technique is optimal, and you hold yourself accountable for image quality before anyone else has to. You select the right exposure parameters every time and apply ALARA principles without being prompted.
Mastery of standards and systems: You know breast anatomy, mammographic positioning, and digital tomosynthesis inside and out. You are proficient on digital mammography equipment, RIS, and PACS systems. Your documentation is thorough, your image labeling is precise, and your QA work keeps the facility compliant and accredited. MQSA, ACR, HIPAA-you do not just know the acronyms, you live by the standards.
Patient-centered care: Mammography is personal. Many of your patients are anxious, some are in pain, and a few are facing news they were not expecting. You verify identity, review medical history, explain procedures clearly, and handle every interaction with dignity and professionalism. You have the interpersonal skill to put someone at ease and the clinical skill to make the exam as comfortable as possible-without compromising image quality.
Compliance and credentialing: You maintain your ARRT certification in both Radiography (R) and Mammography (M), your state license where required, current BLS, and your MQSA-mandated 15 breast CEUs every three years. Your initial training documentation, tomosynthesis training documentation, and digital training records are complete and current. Staying compliant is not a task you are reminded to do-it is how you operate.
Agility and autonomy: You manage your own workflow in a busy outpatient environment-keeping rooms ready, performing routine quality assurance, maintaining equipment, and adapting when the schedule shifts. You are organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently without losing composure when the day picks up.
Mentorship and professionalism: When students rotate through, you take that responsibility seriously. You provide hands-on guidance, model professionalism and technical precision, and help the next generation of mammography techs understand both the clinical and human side of this work.
What You'll Gain
Purpose-driven work: Early detection saves lives-and you are the one making it possible. The #1 reason people stay at SimonMed is the sense of purpose that comes from delivering advanced outpatient imaging that directly impacts patient outcomes. At our scale, the volume of screening exams you perform means your skill and attention to detail translate into real results for real patients. That is not a tagline; that is the job.
A collaborative team environment: Join a team where support, communication, and shared clinical standards are the norm-not the exception. Our collaborative culture is the reason our technologists stay and thrive.
Flexibility and work-life balance: No trauma bays, no overnight on-call, no unpredictable ER surges at 2 AM. You get the predictability of an outpatient schedule-with holidays off and a shift that ends when it is supposed to.
Efficient workflows and advanced technology: We invest in modern digital and tomosynthesis mammography systems, so you are working with technology that supports high-quality imaging-not fighting outdated equipment to get a diagnostic result. Our efficient workflows mean you can focus on clinical excellence and patient care-not administrative friction.
High clinical standards in advanced imaging: Screening and diagnostic mammography, tomosynthesis, and a diverse patient population-our case volume keeps your positioning skills and clinical judgment active. SimonMed's commitment to high clinical standards and advanced protocols means you are applying real expertise every single day, never running exams on autopilot.
A career path, not just a job: As a national network, we offer internal mobility, cross-training opportunities, and a clear path forward-whether that is moving into a lead mammography role, expanding into additional modalities, or stepping into mentorship. As we continue to expand across markets, new opportunities are created for technologists to advance their careers and grow with the organization. Your ARRT (M) certification is the foundation-what you build on it here is up to you.
You're a Strong Fit if You Have
• ARRT certification in Radiography (R) required
• ARRT advanced certification in Mammography (M) required
• Valid state radiologic technologist license current (where applicable)
• Current BLS certification
• MQSA compliant - 15 breast CEUs every 3 years maintained
• Initial mammography training documentation complete (25 signed-off exams)
• Tomosynthesis and digital training documentation current
• 1+ year of mammography experience preferred
• Proficiency in digital/tomosynthesis equipment, RIS, and PACS
• Strong patient communication skills - especially in sensitive situations
