Typical duties may include feeding, grooming, exercising horses, cleaning stalls, assisting with general farm maintenance, and sometimes helping with riding lessons or horse training. These roles are ideal for individuals seeking hands-on experience with horses and who are comfortable living in a rural setting. Live-in arrangements can vary, but often include utilities and sometimes meals. Having previous horse handling experience is usually preferred, though some farms may offer training for entry-level candidates.

To thrive as a Live-In Horse Farm Worker, you generally need hands-on experience with horse care, basic animal husbandry, and a solid understanding of farm maintenance tasks. Familiarity with equipment such as tractors, grooming tools, and possibly certifications in equine care or first aid are often required. Strong communication, reliability, and a proactive work ethic are key soft skills that help in handling animals and working as part of a team.
