This position requires a deep understanding of automotive systems and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently. The successful candidate will contribute to customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality service and clear communication regarding vehicle conditions and necessary repairs. Working in compliance with safety standards, including OSHA regulations, is essential to maintain a safe work environment for both employees and customers. Ultimately, this role supports the operational success of the service department by minimizing vehicle downtime and enhancing overall service quality.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active and valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in Spanish to effectively communicate with a diverse customer base and team members.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as an auto mechanic or in a similar automotive repair role.

  • Additional language skills beyond Spanish.
  • Prior experience in a high-volume automotive service center.
  • Formal technical training or apprenticeship in automotive repair.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed inspections and diagnostics on a variety of vehicle makes and models to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and fluid replacements to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension components, using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records of all services performed, parts used, and customer communications to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Adhere strictly to OSHA safety standards and company policies to promote a safe and efficient working environment.

Skills:

The required OSHA Certification ensures that the mechanic consistently applies safety protocols to prevent workplace accidents and maintain compliance with federal regulations. Spanish language skills enable clear communication with Spanish-speaking customers and colleagues, enhancing service quality and teamwork. Daily tasks involve using diagnostic tools and mechanical expertise to identify and resolve vehicle issues efficiently. Preferred skills such as ASE certification and experience with computerized diagnostics further improve the mechanic’s ability to handle complex repairs and stay current with evolving automotive technologies. Together, these skills contribute to delivering reliable vehicle maintenance and repair services while fostering a safe and inclusive work environment.
