Company Overview

We are a family-owned construction and development company specializing in multifamily residential buildings, apartment complexes, and high-end custom homes. We take pride in hands‑on project delivery, quality craftsmanship, and long-term relationships with clients, trades, and partners. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented Architect to help lead design development and support projects from concept through construction.

Position Summary

The Architect will be responsible for designing and managing residential and multifamily projects from initial concept through construction documentation and coordination. This role requires a balance of creativity, technical knowledge, and practical construction understanding. You will work closely with ownership, project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure designs are both visually compelling and buildable within budget and schedule constraints.

Key Responsibilities Design & Development
  • Lead architectural design for multifamily residential buildings, apartments, and custom homes
  • Develop conceptual designs, schematic drawings, and detailed construction documents
  • Translate client needs, zoning requirements, and budget constraints into functional design solutions
  • Create presentations, renderings, and design packages for internal and client review
Construction Documentation & Coordination
  • Produce and review full construction drawing sets (CDs)
  • Coordinate with structural, MEP, and civil engineers
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting requirements
  • Review and revise plans based on municipal feedback and approvals
Construction Phase Support
  • Provide architectural support during construction
  • Respond to RFIs, submittals, and field conditions
  • Conduct site visits to ensure design intent is maintained
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and superintendents to resolve issues in real time
Collaboration & Communication
  • Work directly with ownership and project leadership on design direction
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and municipal agencies
  • Participate in client meetings and design presentations
  • Maintain strong communication between office and field teams
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
  • Licensed Architect (or actively working toward licensure, depending on company preference)
  • 5+ years of experience in residential architecture (multifamily and/or custom homes preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in CAD and BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit preferred)
  • Solid understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction methods
  • Experience producing full construction document sets
Preferred
  • Experience working directly with construction teams or design‑build environments
  • Strong understanding of multifamily building systems and detailing
  • Ability to balance design quality with cost and constructability
  • Experience with high‑end residential or custom home design
Skills & Attributes
  • Strong design sensibility and attention to detail
  • Practical, construction‑minded approach to architecture
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong problem‑solving skills in fast‑paced environments
  • Comfortable working in a small, collaborative, family‑owned business culture
  • Clear communicator with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
What We Offer
  • Opportunity to lead meaningful residential and multifamily projects
  • Direct access to decision‑makers (no layers of corporate bureaucracy)
  • Hands‑on involvement from design through construction
  • Collaborative, family‑oriented work environment
  • Competitive compensation based on experience
