What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Live In Helper, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Live In Helper, you generally need experience in caregiving or household management, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with basic household appliances, first aid procedures, and sometimes certification in CPR or home care assistance is beneficial. These skills ensure the well-being, comfort, and smooth daily functioning of the individuals or families being assisted.

To address these, it's helpful to establish clear expectations and daily routines with your employer from the start. Open communication, setting aside personal time, and understanding the household's needs will help you balance your responsibilities and well-being. Many Live In Helpers find that being adaptable and proactive in discussing concerns leads to a positive and respectful working environment.
