Job description

Field Service Technician

Polytec, Inc., a subsidiary of Chemtrade, has been in business for over 30 years in the water treatment industry and is looking to expand our service force in the Midwest based out of Nebraska.

What You Need to be Successful

  • Must have a strong maintenance background with at least 5 years' experience.
  • Must like to work with people and have good communication skills.
  • Must be service oriented and respond to customer needs.
  • Overnight travel within assigned territory is required over 75% of the time.
  • Must live in Nebraska

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining, Installing or upgrading equipment in various field locations
  • Configuring hardware and software components after installation
  • Performing routine maintenance on technology equipment
  • Testing equipment to troubleshoot the issues
  • Documenting installation and repairs
  • Maintaining all tools and equipment used during service calls
  • Teaching customers how to use the equipment properly
  • Managing the stock of replacement parts and equipment

Working Environment

  • Chemical manufacturing plant producing various alkaline mineral slurries. Limited interaction with other Hazmat and non-Hazmat products as needed.
  • Physical capability of performing tasks in 100+ degree ambient temperatures while wearing Protective Personal Protection.
  • This job requires climbing stairs and ladders and also lifting (within OSHA guidelines).
  • This job consists of outside elements where radiant heat or cold is normal work environment.
  • Following all plant safety guidelines such as: Confined Space, Working with Heights, Management of Change, Hot Work and Operating Procedures.
