As British Columbia's flagship convention centre, the facility hosts hundreds of events each year and welcomes hundreds of thousands of attendees, generating significant economic activity for the province.Job Overview:The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading and supporting the day-to-day human resources function for Sodexo Live! operations at the Vancouver Convention Centre.This position will serve as a trusted HR partner to operational leaders and employees, with a strong focus on hourly recruitment, employee relations, workforce planning, onboarding, training, performance management, HR administration and workplace compliance.The HR Manager will help foster a positive, inclusive and respectful workplace while ensuring HR practices are consistent with Sodexo Live! policies, applicable collective agreements, and applicable British Columbia employment, human rights, workplace safety and privacy requirements.Essential Responsibilities:Lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly and operational positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection and onboarding.Ensure recruitment and selection practices comply with applicable B.C. human rights and employment requirements.Coordinate new-hire onboarding, employment documentation and required training.Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers regarding workplace concerns, policies, procedures, leaves, compensation and other employment matters.Support and, where appropriate, lead workplace investigations in accordance with company policies and applicable legal requirements.Partner with management and workplace safety representatives to support a safe and healthy work environment and compliance with WorkSafeBC requirements.Provide visible HR support in a high-volume convention and events environment.Build strong working relationships with culinary, hospitality, facilities, operations and leadership teams.Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field preferred.6+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 4 years in an HR leadership, management or supervisory capacity.Experience in hospitality, food and beverage, catering, convention centres, events or other high-volume service environments is an asset.Working knowledge of British Columbia employment standards, human rights and workplace health and safety requirements.Experience supporting employee relations, investigations, performance management and workplace accommodations.Strong understanding of recruitment and retention strategies for hourly and high-volume workforces.Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with employees, managers, senior leaders and external partners.Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism, empathy and sound judgment.Thank you for expressing interest in employment with Sodexo Live!.
