We are seeking a skilled UAT QA Analyst to support government and public sector clients in planning, coordinating, and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities. This contract role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in government IT modernization, human services systems, or Medicaid/HHS enterprise platforms. The UAT QA Analyst will work closely with state agency stakeholders, business owners, and technical teams to ensure that systems and solutions meet defined business requirements before go-live. This will be a contract opportunity that is hybrid in Newark, DE.
What You ll Do

  • Develop, maintain, and execute UAT test plans, test cases, and test scripts aligned with business requirements and project objectives
  • Coordinate UAT activities with state agency stakeholders, business users, and project teams to ensure timely and effective testing cycles
  • Facilitate UAT sessions, including scheduling, user onboarding, and defect triage meetings
  • Document, track, and manage defects using established defect management tools and processes; communicate status and resolution to project stakeholders
  • Validate that system functionality meets business and regulatory requirements, including federal and state compliance standards
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, developers, and project managers to resolve issues identified during testing
  • Prepare UAT summary reports, including test results, defect metrics, and go/no-go recommendations for leadership
  • Support change management activities by providing input on user readiness, training needs, and system usability observations
  • Maintain thorough documentation throughout the testing lifecycle in alignment with project management and quality assurance standards

What You ll Need

Required

  • 3 5 years of experience in QA testing, UAT coordination, or a related quality assurance role
  • Demonstrated experience working on government or public sector IT projects (state, federal, or local)
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies
  • Experience writing and executing test cases, test scripts, and test plans from business requirements
  • Proficiency with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, or similar)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

Preferred

  • Experience supporting Medicaid, HHS, or other health and human services systems
  • Familiarity with Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) or MMIS modernization projects
  • Knowledge of federal compliance requirements, including CMS certification standards
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum project methodologies
  • ISTQB or similar QA/testing certification is a plus
  • Background in Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Organizational Change Management (OCM), or project management environments
