Job description



H2O Innovation is seeking a new Water & Wastewater Operator to join our team in the Houston, TX area.  Our next colleague will have a full-time & permanent position. In this role, you will accomplish a variety of duties while conducting regular inspection of our plants and supporting water & wastewater treatment projects.

The Day-to-Day

  • Ensure the safe, compliant, and consistent operation of all water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of treatment plants and pumping stations in accordance with established standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the collection and distribution systems as well as the treatment plants.
  • Create and initiate work orders for operational servicing and repairs.
  • Prepare and manage activity and work orders for both preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Order goods and equipment, and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Provide guidance and support to plant team members.
  • Communicate with operators, clients, and management regarding any issues that may affect the treatment process, compliance, or public health.
  • Support water and wastewater treatment projects by assisting in the development of project plans and SOPs, as well as justifying and executing project requests.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships and communication between operators and customers.

 

The Skills We Are Looking For

  • Minimum Class D License required.
  • A CDL is an asset.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Team-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to learn all aspects of the water and wastewater field.

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Walking & Standing: 4-8 hr/day;
  • Bending & Reaching: 4-8 hr/day;
  • Pushing & pulling: 4-8 hr/day;
  • Driving 4-6 hr/day;
  • Physical Effort: does not lift weights more than 100 lbs;
  • Environmental Stress: busy atmosphere, working inside and outside.
