Job description

A part-time Custodian’s primary function is the maintenance and upkeep of the Ward Church facility and its grounds.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Interior:  Maintain the building by the following:

  • Clean, buff, strip, and wax tile floors
  • Vacuum and shampoo carpeting
  • Dust and polish furniture
  • Clean glass and mirrors
  • Clean floors and fixtures in restrooms
  • Keep adequate supplies (soap, towels, etc.) in restrooms
  • Dispose of all waste material
  • Arrange furniture, as required by the various groups
  • Clean doors, door frames, light switch areas, windowsills, handrails, radiator covers, drinking fountains, etc.
  • Replace burned out light bulbs
  • Lock and unlock building and rooms, as required
  • Do minor maintenance work, as necessary
  • And other miscellaneous duties, as required

Exterior:  Maintain areas adjacent to the building as follows:

  • Sweep entrances and walkways
  • Pick up all paper and debris
  • Maintain planted areas
  • Shovel snow
  • Do minor maintenance work, as necessary
  • And other related duties, as required

Attend other functions of the church, as assigned.
