Job description

Description:

The Batch Plant Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the batch plant and mixer

trucks to produce concrete in accordance with project specifications and industry standards. This

role requires an experienced individual who can manage batching and mixing operations,

perform routine maintenance, and ensure the efficient production of high-quality concrete while

adhering to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the batch plant, mixer trucks, and related equipment, ensuring accurate and

consistent mixing of concrete according to project specifications and company standards.

• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime

and maintain smooth operations.

• Conduct scale checks and chemical calibrations as required for PCI (Precast/Prestressed

Concrete Institute) certification.

• Order and maintain inventory of raw materials such as cement, rock, sand, and chemicals

necessary for concrete production. • Conduct inspections of the batch plant and mixer, addressing any operational issues and

ensuring timely repairs.

• Ensure that concrete meets quality standards by collaborating with quality control and

production teams.

• Maintain accurate records of batching operations, material usage, and maintenance

activities.

• Work with management and other departments to meet production schedules and address

operational challenges.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in batching operations and concrete mixing, preferably in a

precast/prestressed concrete environment.

• Strong knowledge of batch plant equipment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with PCI standards, chemical calibrations, and concrete adjustments.

• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in batching accuracy and record-

keeping.

• Strong communication skills for coordinating with teams and reporting to management.

• Physical capability to perform hands-on tasks and work in varying environmental

conditions.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs.

• Comfortable working in outdoor and industrial environments with exposure to dust,

noise, and temperature fluctuations.

• Capability to stand, climb, and move continuously throughout the shift.

Working Conditions:

The Batch Plant Operator will primarily work in and around the batch plant, with frequent

exposure to an industrial environment and outdoor weather conditions. This role requires a

hands-on approach, with a focus on operating equipment and ensuring efficient concrete

production.
