Cultural SME / Geopolitical Analyst
Marine Corps University (MCU) / College of Distance Education and Training (CDET)
Location: Quantico, VA
Employment Type: Full-Time
Security Clearance: Secret (Tier 3)
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Hatalom Corporation is seeking a Cultural SME / Geopolitical Analyst to support Marine Corps University (MCU) and Education Command (EDCOM). This position provides subject matter expertise and analytical support on regional and global cultural, social, military, and geopolitical issues, with emphasis on China, Russia, Energy, Women, Peace and Security (WPS), and related cultural topics. The analyst supports research, education, planning, and decision-making through timely analysis and development of educational products. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide expert analysis on cultural, social, military, and political factors, highlighting key trends and potential implications.
  • Develop briefing materials and reports on cultural dynamics and strategic interests to inform organizational initiatives and decision-making.
  • Conduct research on historical and contemporary cultural issues, summarizing key insights for stakeholders.
  • Support the development of educational and training materials focused on regional cultural awareness and geopolitical dynamics.
  • Deliver presentations and briefings to staff on cultural norms, societal trends, and potential risks or opportunities.
  • Monitor and analyze media, government publications, and open-source materials to provide timely updates on cultural and geopolitical shifts.
  • Support scenario planning exercises by providing cultural insights to simulate responses and assess potential outcomes.
  • Identify cultural factors that may impact security, economic interests, and diplomatic relations.
  • Provide analysis on cultural and societal issues, including the effects of policies and trends on regional stability and cooperation.
  • Support organizational understanding of cultural risks and mitigation strategies through research and analysis.
  • Stay informed of emerging cultural and geopolitical developments to ensure current and relevant subject matter expertise.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Political Science, Regional Studies, Intelligence Studies, Anthropology, History, or a related field.
  • Experience conducting research and analysis on geopolitical, cultural, or regional security issues.
  • Strong analytical, writing, briefing, and presentation skills.
  • Experience using open-source research and analytical methodologies.
  • Active Secret (Tier 3) Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Regional expertise in China, Russia, Energy Security, or Women, Peace and Security (WPS).
  • Experience supporting the Department of Defense, Marine Corps, or Federal Government.
  • Experience supporting strategic planning, military education, or geopolitical analysis.
