We are currently seeking qualified Field Assessors / Building Inspectors to support facility condition assessment, property assessment, and building inspection projects. Candidates must currently reside in the following locations and be able to work remotely from a home-based office with regular travel to customer sites throughout:
New Orleans, LA
Berks County, PA
Paducah, KY
Nashville, TN;
Massachusetts
Indiana

Specifically, this role will:
  • Perform visual field assessments of buildings, residential units, common areas, site components, and major building systems. 
  • Document existing conditions, deficiencies, deferred maintenance, and recommended corrective actions. 
  • Collect accurate field data, notes, photographs, measurements, and building system information. 
  • Evaluate building components, including roofing, exterior envelope, interiors, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety, site improvements, and accessibility-related components where applicable. 
  • Follow project-specific inspection procedures, checklists, and data collection requirements. 
  • Organize and submit field documentation in a clear, accurate, and timely manner. 
  • Communicate regularly with project managers and internal team members. 
  • Travel to assigned project locations as required.
We seek candidates with:
  • Experience performing Facility Condition Assessments, Property Condition Assessments, Capital Needs Assessments, home inspections, construction inspections, housing inspections, or similar building evaluations. 
  • Working knowledge of building systems and common construction deficiencies. 
  • Ability to identify repair needs, deferred maintenance, safety concerns, and general condition issues. 
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. 
  • Ability to take clear photographs and write concise field notes. 
  • Comfortable using tablets, mobile applications, spreadsheets, digital forms, or inspection software. 
  • Ability to work independently while following project direction. 
  • Prior experience with multifamily housing, public housing, commercial buildings, institutional facilities, or residential inspections is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license is required with no significant MVA points/violations (clean driving record).
  • Must possess company values of Entrepreneurial Spirit, Results, Integrity and Customer Focus
The following certifications or knowledge are preferred but not required:
  • Home Inspector License or Certification 
  • ICC Certifications 
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 
  • Construction, facilities, engineering, architecture, or building inspection background 
  • Experience with ADA, life safety, or accessibility observations is a plus
Additionally, you will be required to:
  • Stand / walk 6–8 hours per day on large sites.
  • Climb ladders, stairs, access roofs, attics, crawlspaces.
  • Lift / carry tools and equipment up to 30–50 lbs.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in variable weather.
  • Operate tablets and cameras for extended periods.
  • Use required PPE at all times.
  • Remote-based with frequent travel (100%).
  • Fieldwork in occupied and unoccupied facilities.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
  • Typical travel assignments 3–10 days in duration.
