Job Description

At Bello Machre, we call our House Managers Family Living Directors. This position provides oversight for one of our community-based residential homes, providing care and support to four adults with developmental disabilities. Homes are located throughout Carroll County. The House Manager ensures that our employees are helping the people we serve to learn independent living skills, plan activities in the home and community, and implement individual program plans. In addition to supporting the people living in the home, additional responsibilities include maintaining and balancing house funds, scheduling and attending medical appointments, and supervising other support staff who also work in the home.

We provide a family-style setting for the people we serve and the staff supporting them! The Family Living Director is a unique live-in position (family/friends are also welcome to live-in, upon approval) that generally works 50 hours per week, in a split shift, Monday โ€“ Friday (mornings and evenings).

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
  • At least two years of experience working in the human services field with experience providing direct care services
  • At least one year of supervisory experience is required
  • Must display a genuine interest in the well-being of adults with developmental disabilities
  • Must be able to teach skills, provide support, and build on each individualโ€™s strengths and capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Provide a home that is well-maintained and organized, and ensure it reflects the interests and personal tastes of the people living there.
  • Assist in maintaining a family-style household, which includes cooking balanced meals according to their needs and preferences and maintaining house cleanliness
  • Provide direct supervision of all the Direct Support Professionals in the home. Participate in the hiring, training, and professional development of Direct Support Professionals working in the home.
  • Manage house schedule to ensure proper coverage at all times.
  • Manage house hours, budget, and overtime while still providing optimal care and support for the people in the home
  • Provides outstanding support and services for people with developmental disabilities, enabling them to participate as fully as they wish in all aspects of community life
