Role Description The Temp Technician – Systems Mass Spectrometry, Proteomics is a full-time, on-site role based in Atlanta, GA. This position supports the daily operation of proteomics and mass spectrometry instruments, including setup, calibration, routine checks, and performance monitoring. The technician assists with sample preparation workflows, runs scheduled analyses, and documents results following established protocols. Responsibilities include performing routine maintenance, identifying and resolving technical issues, coordinating service requests, and ensuring instruments and lab spaces remain compliant with safety and quality standards. The role also involves supporting researchers and students by providing basic technical guidance on instrument use, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to continuous improvement of laboratory procedures.

Qualifications

  • Strong troubleshooting and technical support skills for complex analytical instrumentation.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure reliable instrument performance.
  • Comfort providing training and guidance on equipment operation and standard lab procedures.
  • Foundational knowledge of proteomics, analytical chemistry, or related life science disciplines.
  • Attention to detail in following protocols, documenting work, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ability to work on-site in a laboratory environment, adhering to safety and compliance requirements.
