Job description

Sales Associate – Entertainment Lighting & Production Products

Location: Chicago, IL

Compensation: Up to $65,000 + potential bonus/incentive opportunities

Are you someone who enjoys building relationships, solving customer problems, and working in the entertainment technology world? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where every day is different and success comes from strong communication, hustle, and follow-through?

We are partnering with a growing entertainment technology company seeking a Sales Associate to support customers across lighting, expendables, and production-related products. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys both inside and outside sales, customer service, and developing long-term client relationships within the entertainment, production, theatrical, or architectural lighting markets.

In this role, you’ll work directly with customers to understand their needs, recommend solutions, manage quotes and orders, and help grow business through proactive outreach and relationship-building.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through phone calls, email, and in-person meetings
  • Prospect and develop new business opportunities while growing existing accounts
  • Conduct customer visits, product presentations, and demonstrations
  • Evaluate customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions
  • Prepare quotes, process orders, and ensure accuracy throughout the sales process
  • Maintain CRM records, tracking leads, opportunities, and customer interactions
  • Follow up consistently to deepen customer relationships and drive repeat business
  • Negotiate pricing within company guidelines and support closing opportunities
  • Coordinate with vendors, manufacturers, and internal teams to support customer success
  • Assist with product returns, shipping confirmations, stock checks, and customer service needs
  • Attend trade shows, networking events, and industry functions as needed
  • Support regional sales efforts and collaborate with team members to achieve goals
  • Travel locally (and occasionally longer distances) as required
What We’re Looking For
  • Sales experience in entertainment technology, lighting, production, AV, theatrical systems, or related industries preferred
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Customer-focused mindset with a consultative sales approach
  • Comfortable with phone outreach, follow-up, and developing new opportunities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce or similar preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
Why This Role?

This is a great opportunity to join a company serving the entertainment and live event industry while building meaningful customer relationships and helping clients bring projects to life. If you enjoy a mix of sales, customer interaction, product knowledge, and relationship-building, this could be an excellent fit.
