Job description

Adam's Place is seeking experienced Direct Support Professionals who are calm, confident, and resilient - individuals who can support adults with developmental disabilities in both everyday life and high-behavior situations.

We currently have urgent openings in two high-behavior homes. These roles involve supporting individuals who may display physical and assaultive behaviors. Candidates must be comfortable working in these environments and able to remain composed, follow training, and respond appropriately.

One of these Programs does offer a permanent $1.00/hour exceptional supports differential, and currently, as we are supporting around some circumstantial increases in behaviors, there is a $2.00/hour additional temporary exceptional supports differential that will continue until the home is more stabilized. This is a single client home, so most shifts are single staffed after training period. Applications MUST have experience working with physical assaultive behaviors.

Bonus Program

We are currently offering a hiring bonus for our high behavior programs:

* First payday after completing training and working independently** at either of our high-behavior homes for two weeks: $250

* 90 days after becoming fully independent**: $500

* 6 months after becoming fully independent**: $1,000

* 1 year after becoming fully independent**: $2,000

Eligibility is subject to continued employment and satisfactory performance.

** In order to be considered fully independent, new hires must complete Safety & Orientation, complete fingerprinting, and complete 80 hours of program-specific training, unless signed off by QAT based on demonstrated competency and ability to perform duties independently.

What You Could Be Doing

Experienced Direct Support Professional (high behaviors)

Supported Living is a service that supports clients to live in their home in the community with supports from a contracted agency. Individuals typically live with two or three housemates, and staff provide teaching or support based on the needs of the individual. At Adam's Place, currently all homes are staffed 24 hours a day. Supported Living services are person-centered supports, enabling individuals with disabilities to be as independent as possible within their home and community.

What We Are Looking For

Experienced Direct Support Professional. All required training will be provided. Looking for the right person to fit this position.

  • Must have experience working with physical and assaultive behaviors
  • Patient and have the ability to respond positively, even during challenging days
  • Able to apply Right Response behavior training
  • Ability to follow a Positive Behavior Support Plan
  • Dedicated to support client using Picture Exchange System (PEC)
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be able to pass a DSHS background and fingerprint check
  • Agree to a drug-free workplace policy (No THC testing)
  • Able to obtain NAR and First Aid/CPR card (we provide training and pay you while you work towards all your certificates)
  • Ability to apply training effectively
  • Have a good work ethic and excellent moral compass
  • Be an independent, creative and out-of-the-box thinker
  • Ability to effectively problem solve
  • Must be dependable and flexible
  • Good driving record a definite plus!
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required
