At Community Resources for Independence (CRI), we believe in creating an inclusive community where everyone has the chance to thrive in their own homes. As a member of our care team, you’ll provide support that empowers individuals to live more independently and with dignity, while also enriching your own life through meaningful connections and shared moments of joy.


Our van drivers provide curb to curb services for the elderly and disabled, ensuring they travel safely and comfortably to and from their destinations.

  • $15/hr
  • Part-time approximately 15-20 hours per week
  • Days
  • Mon-Fri
  • Must be flexible with start and end times

Responsibilities:

  • Complete and pass all mandatory on-line training
  • Provide timely transport of passengers in Erie County
  • Ensure passenger feels secure and respected throughout their journey
  • Maintain a friendly and compassionate demeanor, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere
  • Follow all safety protocols when using the wheelchair ramp to assist passengers on and off. Make sure to engage the wheelchair parking brake or turn off the power wheelchair, and ensure that appropriate safety equipment and devices are utilized.
  • Ensure the van is well-maintained by performing daily checks
  • Maintain a precise log of your journeys and mileage using mobile app
  • Submit monthly travel reports
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor may include assisting the facility manager with maintaining the property inside and out

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Must have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license
  • Must be able to pass various background checks
  • CPR/FA certified
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMETS:

  • Drive Agency Van, Operate Van Ramp Equipment
  • Ability to push and maneuver a person who uses a wheelchair (manual or electric) up and down ramp and curb
  • Physically able to bend and lift a minimum of 50lbs
  • Operate washing equipment for van
