Job description

Dog Walker & Drop-In Pet Care Provide

Superior & Louisville, CO | Your Pet Staycations

Your Pet Staycations is a premium, in-home pet care company providing reliable, attentive care for pets in their own homes.

We are hiring Dog Walkers & Drop-In Pet Care Sitters to join our growing, trusted care team. This role is designed as supplemental income and is best suited for responsible, grounded adults who genuinely love animals and are available to consistently take on work.

This role is a good fit for:

  • Remote workers or freelancers with flexible schedules
  • Graduate students with daytime availability
  • Retired or semi-retired individuals
  • People with steady income seeking additional, flexible work
  • People who enjoy being outdoors, staying active, and spending their days with animals

Service Area

Walkers/Pet Care givers must be able and willing to take jobs Superior & Louisville only

What the role involves

  • Providing scheduled dog walks and in-home drop-in visits for dogs and cats
  • Following established care instructions, including feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, walks, medications when applicable, play, enrichment, and companionship
  • Providing attentive, individualized care based on each pet’s age, energy level, personality, and needs
  • Maintaining a clean and respectful presence in clients’ homes
  • Sending photos and care updates using our apps and technology
  • Communicating clearly and reaching out for guidance when something is unclear or unexpected
  • Attending paid meet & greets with new clients as needed

Scheduling Expectations & Participation

The business is growing, and we are looking for team members who are available and genuinely want to take on work.

Sitters are expected to:

  • Accept regular dog walking and/or drop-in assignments on an ongoing basis
  • Maintain meaningful daytime availability, particularly for morning, midday, & evening care (spread amongst a team of providers - you won't be responsible for all shifts).
  • Respond to job offers in a timely manner
  • Provide same-day responses to last-minute requests, even if the response is simply that you are unavailable
  • Maintain consistent participation as part of the care rotation
  • Expect increased opportunities and availability needs during weekends, holidays, spring break, summer, and other high-demand periods

This is not intended to be casual, last-minute gig work. Individual assignments may be declined based on availability, but we are investing in team members who want to actively participate as the business grows.

Commitment & Paid Training

This position requires a minimum 6-month commitment of active availability.

All sitters complete our 6-hour online, in-house Pet Sitter Certification Training (required).

Training is paid for by the company and compensated above typical industry training rates. The total training investment is approximately $300–$400, depending on time required to complete the program.

Because we make this investment upfront, team members are expected to maintain active availability and consistently accept work during their six-month commitment. If those participation requirements are not met or employment ends before the commitment is fulfilled, repayment of the training investment may be required in accordance with the employment agreement.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

  • Safely walk and manage dogs of varying sizes, strength levels, and energy
  • Remain physically active throughout the day, including walking, standing, bending, and lifting supplies as needed
  • Walk outdoors in varying Colorado weather conditions
  • Maintain situational awareness and appropriate physical control for pet safety
  • Travel reliably between client homes

Requirements

  • A genuine love of animals and nature is a must — primarily dogs and cats, with occasional birds, reptiles, rodents, and other companion animals
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Smartphone with sufficient storage and ability to install and use required apps
  • Comfortable learning new apps and software quickly; tech-savvy and able to adapt to systems
  • Strong communication and follow-through
  • Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask questions
  • Reliability, sound judgment, and respect for clients, their homes, and their pets
  • Completion of our paid 6-hour Pet Sitter Certification Training (required)

Previous pet sitting or animal care experience is a bonus.

Compensation & Work Environment

  • Competitive, above-market pay
  • Paid meet & greets
  • Paid training compensated above typical industry standards
  • Opportunities to take on additional work as the business continues to grow

We believe in paying people well, treating them with respect, and building a team that takes the work seriously while still having fun doing it.

We are looking for people who understand that relationship: we invest in and respect our team, and we expect responsibility, communication, reliability, and commitment in return.

How to Apply

Please apply with a brief note including:

  • Where you live
  • Your typical weekday/daytime availability
  • The areas you are able to service
  • Your experience caring for animals
  • Why this position feels like a good fit for you

This role is best suited for people who genuinely want to work, love animals, enjoy being active, and want to be part of a fun, professional pet care team as the business grows.
