Job description

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Data Modeller to support enterprise-scale data initiatives involving data warehousing, analytics, and cloud-based data platforms. The role requires strong expertise in data modeling, AWS services, and working with both structured and unstructured datasets. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to design scalable and high-quality data models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Perform data analysis, data profiling, and identify trends and anomalies in large datasets
  • Work with AWS cloud services to support data ingestion, processing, and storage
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams on data warehousing and analytics solutions
  • Support structured and unstructured data use cases across enterprise platforms
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and alignment with business requirements
  • Work with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data models

Required Skills & Experience (Must Have)
  • 5+ years of experience in:
  • Data modeling, data warehousing, data analysis, and data profiling
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services:
  • S3, AWS Glue, EMR, IAM (roles and permissions)
  • Experience with one or more query/programming languages:
  • SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, SparkSQL, Scala
  • Strong experience with relational databases, especially Teradata
  • Ability to handle both structured and unstructured datasets
  • Experience with data modeling tools such as:
  • Erwin, Power Designer, ER Studio

Preferred / Ideal Skills
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Experience with NoSQL / non-relational databases, including:
  • Object storage, document stores, key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases
  • Experience with Snowflake and Databricks

Good to Have Skills
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Understanding of financial industry metrics and business processes
  • AWS certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner or AWS Developer

Education / Additional Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent work experience) in:
  • Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
  • Experience with one or more scripting languages:
  • Python, KornShell
