Job description

Position: Design Build Construction Project Manager

Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Employment Type: Full Time

Job Summary

Moore Industries seeks a Design-Build Construction Project Manager to lead projects from design through closeout. You'll manage design firms, coordinate subcontractors/vendors, control budgets and schedules, and oversee construction execution for industrial and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Turnover & Planning:Receive turnover from estimating, validate scope, establish execution plans, cost codes, communication paths, and baseline schedules
  • Budget & Controls:Build and publish baseline budgets, set up cost tracking and forecasting, establish change management processes, create monthly reporting tools
  • Design Management:Manage external design firms, lead design meetings and gate reviews (SD/DD/Permit/IFC), maintain client interface, drive constructability reviews, coordinate subcontractor input, manage RFI strategy
  • Subcontract Buyout:Develop and execute buyout plans, scope and award subcontracts/POs, negotiate terms to meet budget and schedule, ensure proper insurance and safety requirements
  • Procurement & Materials:Manage long-lead procurement logs, coordinate material releases and logistics, track vendor drawings/submittals, align procurement with construction schedule
  • Construction Mobilization:Finalize project schedules, coordinate preconstruction conference, site logistics, safety planning, confirm manpower and temporary facilities, set up project systems
  • Construction Management:Support day-to-day execution, manage schedules and RFI/submittal logs, oversee cost forecasting and change management, lead coordination meetings, enforce QA/QC compliance
  • Closeout:Drive punchlist completion, manage closeout deliverables (as-builts, O&M manuals, warranties), ensure subcontract closeouts, complete final cost reconciliation
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years managing industrial/commercial construction projects; design-build experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong budgeting, scheduling, cost forecasting, and contract management skills
  • Working knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
