Job description

Responsibilities Produce high‐quality altered merchandise within established time‐frame standards. Provide excellent customer service and foster lasting customer relationships. Collaborate effectively with other team members in the store. Model all Saks Fifth Avenue customer‐service principles. Achieve and exceed individual performance and productivity goals. Follow all Saks Fifth Avenue policies and procedures. Follow all alteration work‐room policies and procedures. Use expertise to make alterations decisions during customer fittings. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Support company/store and department initiatives. Perform adhoc responsibilities as needed. Qualifications Minimum 5 years fitting/tailoring experience in high‐end merchandise. Ability to fit and perform alterations on a wide range of garments. Strong technical background in specialty skills such as leather, knits, double face, beading, fine tailoring, buttonholes, etc. Ability to perform complex alterations such as shortening sleeves at shoulders and recutting trousers. Pressing and spotting skills. Knowledge of alterations industry, including fabrication and styling of luxury merchandise. Knowledge of pattern making and draping. Ability to take measurements and complete Made‐to‐Measure forms on all garment types. High‐school graduate or equivalent (preferred). Ability to work well in a fast‐paced, team‐oriented environment that requires multi‐tasking with limited supervision. Openness to learning and developing new skills and processes. Salary and Compensation The starting hourly rate for this position is between $31.55 and $39.44 per hour, depending on market, skills, experience, and other qualifications.
