What is a live in companion?

Live-in companions are individuals who reside with clients, typically elderly or disabled persons, to provide non-medical support, companionship, and assistance with daily activities. Their duties may include helping with personal care, preparing meals, housekeeping, running errands, and offering emotional support. Live-in companions play an important role in enhancing their clients’ quality of life, fostering independence, and ensuring safety within the home.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a live in companion?

To thrive as a Live In Companion, you need basic caregiving skills, a high school diploma or equivalent, and often experience in personal assistance or elder care.
