The following are skills needed to perform the essential functions of care giving of this job in the interest of residents/patients. The ability to:
  • Recognize and respond to the needs of residents.
  • Make prompt and accurate judgments with regard to resident care. Accurately take and record vital signs, including blood pressures. Evaluate sensory limitations of residents/patients, and adjust care-giving methods to maximize communication.
  • Observe and assess at the Certified Nursing Assistant level the physical, psychosocial and safety needs of residents/patients.
  • Communicate a sense of caring, concern and dignity for residents/patients.
  • Perform the essential functions of the job in a manner that benefits residents of the facility and complies with business necessity.
  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Certified Nursing Assistants provide routine nursing care in a manner conducive to the comfort and safety of residents in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations, and are delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties by the Charge Nurse, Director of Nursing Services, Administrator, or other assigned supervisory personnel to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.
