Job description

  • Expected pay for this position is $17.87-$25.02. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
  • Job Summary
    • A Nurse Assistant is responsible with assisting in providing care for multiple types of patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Job Specifications
    • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Required to have completed an approved nurse aide training program, passed the IL Certified Nurse Aide Exam, and be listed on the IL Nurse Aide Registry. Required to have a current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire date. Required to have a current CPI certification or ability to obtain within 180 days of hire date. 

    • JOB KNOWLEDGE: Is knowledgeable regarding policies and procedures, PPE's, universal precautions, duties during a disaster, and product safety information, all on-line/computer based learning. The patient population must be considered when assessing job knowledge required by the employee.

    • ABILITIES, INTERESTS AND TEMPERAMENTS:
      • Verbal ability is needed to interpret and understand instructions and to communicate with other caregivers.
      • Numerical ability is needed to correctly tally patient's I & O.
      • Visual acuity is needed to assist and monitor patients.
      • Ability to read and write is needed for documentation on patient records.
      • Ability to adapt and follow directions in a composed manner during emergency situations.
      • Empathy and consideration is needed to deal with patients and their family members.
