What is a live in cleaner?

Live in cleaners are professional cleaners who reside at their employer's home, providing cleaning and housekeeping services on a full-time basis. Their responsibilities typically include tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, laundry, ironing, and sometimes light cooking or errands. Living on-site allows them to offer flexible support and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the household more efficiently. This arrangement is often chosen by busy families, elderly individuals, or people with large homes who require daily assistance. The terms of employment, including working hours and accommodations, are usually agreed upon in advance.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a live in cleaner?

To thrive as a Live In Cleaner, you need practical cleaning skills, attention to detail, and a basic understanding of sanitation standards, typically supported by prior housekeeping experience. Familiarity with cleaning products, appliances, and sometimes specialized equipment like carpet cleaners is commonly required. Reliability, discretion, and strong communication are vital soft skills for building trust and maintaining harmonious relationships with household members. These qualities ensure a consistently clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for clients.

What are the typical daily routines and expectations for a live in cleaner working in a private household?

As a Live In Cleaner in a private household, you can expect your day to involve a mix of regular cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, laundry, ironing, and maintaining common areas. You may also be responsible for occasional deep cleaning and organizing specific rooms as requested by the household. Since you reside on the premises, flexibility with your schedule is often expected, and you may need to adjust your routine to accommodate events or guests. Teamwork is important if you are part of a larger staff, as clear communication ensures a smooth workflow and prevents task overlap.

What is the difference between Live In Cleaner vs Domestic Cleaner?

Both roles require cleaning experience, but the Live In Cleaner typically involves more extensive responsibilities and living arrangements.

Hi! I am looking for a live-in nanny. I am an airline pilot and will be gone from home for a couple to 3 days off in a row. When I am at home, I want to be involved as much as possible in my own children's development, and care. I am going to have a shared approach to the children's care when I am at home. I need: General Childcare,Light Housekeeping,School Pick Up / Drop Off,Activity Pick Up / Drop Offs. The Pick-up and drop-offs are for school, gymnastics, and swimming lessons. These are the kid's hobbies: Ava likes gymnastics and dance; Carter likes playing with Airplanes , Space Ship, and anything Star Wars/Spider Man!
Further Information:
I brought my 6-year-old daughter, and 4-year-old son from Thailand in early April to live with me permanently in the USA. I am interested in finding a live-in nanny for my children. Included in the job: Room(you will have your own furnished room), food, utilities, and all traveling expenses would be included. I have already been taking the children traveling significantly with my travel benefits from the airline. I prefer to have someone that enjoys traveling. Again, I would cover all traveling expenses as well., and you would travel with my two children and treated like family. You, as my nanny, would only have to pay for your own personal items, except food, travel, gasoline, and utilities. As I have had nannies, and housekeepers in Thailand before, I prefer someone who is younger, or if older, has the patience and energy level to stay up with the children, and also be able to hike, bike and do outdoor activities for fun. I would be at home approximately 20 days a month. I am wanting to participate in the children's lives significantly when I am at home in Las Vegas. I am looking for a live-in nanny that does not have a boyfriend, or is married, because I do not want another man whom I do not have a personal relationship with in the house with my children when I am not at home due to work. The nanny I hire will be welcomed in "as family". If interested, call or text me. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
