Job description:

Active Private Security is currently hiring professional, customer-focused Armed Retail Security Officers for a high-volume retail location in Reno, Nevada. This is a Day and Swing position that requires officers who are confident, professional, and committed to providing exceptional customer service while maintaining a safe shopping environment.

This is a hands-off, observe and report position. Officers are expected to use excellent communication, observation, and de-escalation skills while maintaining a visible security presence throughout the store.

Available Shifts:

  • 6am-2:30pm/2:30pm-11pm
  • 11am-5pm/ 5pm-11pm (Vehicle Patrol)

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct continuous foot patrols throughout the interior of the retail store.
  • Maintain a highly visible security presence to deter theft, disturbances, and unsafe behavior.
  • Observe and report all incidents using the TrackTik mobile application on a company-issued phone.
  • Scan designated patrol checkpoints throughout each shift using the TrackTik app.
  • Professionally de-escalate conflicts involving customers, associates, or visitors.
  • Verbally address unauthorized individuals and transients, requesting they leave the property in a calm, respectful, and professional manner.
  • Handle upset customers with patience, professionalism, and outstanding customer service.
  • Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident reports.
  • Communicate effectively with store management and fellow security personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Nevada Armed Exposed Firearm PILB License (Required)
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous armed security or retail security experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Comfortable using smartphones and mobile applications for reporting and patrol documentation.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
