Job description

THE SCHOOL BOARD OF HIGHLANDS COUNTY 
 

POSITION TITLE: General Worker

ASSIGNMENT: Daycare General Worker

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform essential functions and tasks which may include exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds of force as frequently as necessary; lifting, crawling, kneeling, bending, stooping, pulling, and pushing, if required
  3. Satisfactory clearance of a criminal history records check and drug screening


ADDITIONAL DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. If clerical duties are to be assigned, typing skills at 40 words per minute
  2. Demonstrates skill in using materials, equipment and procedures associated with the performance of duties in the specific position

PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assists the Site Manager whenever necessary and fills in when Manager is absent
  2. Plans and supervises indoor/outdoor activities for the children
  3. Fills out accident/incident reports
  4. Takes roll call
  5. Notifies Site Manager about serious discipline problems
  6. Notifies Site Manager when equipment or materials are needed
  7. CPR and Red Cross Certification should be kept current
  8. When necessary, may have to receive training to administer medication to children
  9. Helps children with homework

TERM:

Length of contract and number of hours worked are determined by specific allocation as approved annually during planning-budgeting process

APPRAISAL:

Performance will be appraised annually in accordance with School Board policies
