Job description

At eBay, we're more than a global ecommerce leader - we're changing the way the world shops and sells. Our platform empowers millions of buyers and sellers in more than 190 markets around the world. We're committed to pushing boundaries and leaving our mark as we reinvent the future of ecommerce for enthusiasts.
Our customers are our compass, authenticity thrives, bold ideas are welcome, and everyone can bring their unique selves to work - every day. We're in this together, sustaining the future of our customers, our company, and our planet.
Join a team of passionate thinkers, innovators, and dreamers - and help us connect people and build communities to create economic opportunity for all.
About the Role
We're looking for a Live Category Manager to lead and scale the Luxury Fashion category on eBay Live, with a focus on Handbags, Watches, and Jewelry. You will manage and develop a team of three Live Category Managers while owning the overall strategy and performance for Luxury Fashion on Live. Luxury Fashion is a priority set of categories with a deeply engaged and discerning community.
This is both a builder and strategic leadership role. You will move quickly, test aggressively, and iterate in real time to identify what works, while also setting the vision, priorities, and roadmap for Luxury Fashion on Live.
You'll own critical parts of category strategy and growth - including sourcing and onboarding top luxury sellers, shaping and optimizing live programming, and driving GMV - while developing playbooks that define how Luxury Fashion scales on Live and guiding your team against that strategy.
You'll work directly with sellers, creators, and internal partners, acting as both an operator and strategist to unlock growth in a complex, highly curated market where trust, storytelling, and authenticity are paramount.
What You Will Accomplish
Lead the Luxury Fashion team and drive category growth
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of three Live Category Managers across Handbags, Watches, and Jewelry - setting clear goals, providing regular feedback, and building a high-performance, inclusive culture.
  • Own GMV performance and overall category strategy for Luxury Fashion on Live, including assortment focus, seller portfolio, and live programming.
  • Operate with a strong bias to action - launching quickly, learning fast, and iterating based on performance and customer feedback.
Source and onboard high-potential luxury sellers
  • Guide your team to identify, pitch, and onboard sellers across the ecosystem.
  • Leverage data, market knowledge, and emerging trends in luxury fashion and hard luxury to prioritize the right supply and partners.
  • Partner closely with Business Development and Onboarding teams to execute.
Run a strong test-and-learn loop
  • Continuously experiment with seller mix, category focus, inventory strategy, pricing, and live formats to unlock growth.
  • Capture learnings and build repeatable playbooks, sharing best practices across categories and markets.
Support seller success in a high-trust, high-value environment
  • Understand drivers of success on the eBay Live platform and coach your team's portfolio of sellers across assortment, authentication and trust signals, host talent, production quality, selling formats, marketing, and storytelling.
  • Build trust and credibility with sellers through consistent results, clear expectations, and a deep understanding of the luxury buyer.
Collaborate cross-functionally and lead through influence
  • Work closely with product, marketing, trust & safety, authentication, operations, and vertical/category teams to support successful events and seller growth.
  • Build demand in target buyer segments through strong partnership with Programming and Marketing.

What You Will Bring
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience, with 8+ years of relevant ecommerce, marketplace, or retail experience, including direct work with external partners (brands, retailers, or sellers).
  • 3+ years of direct people management experience, leading and developing high-performing teams, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
  • Demonstrated ability to set vision and goals for a team, translate strategy into execution, and drive accountability and results.
  • Strong bias to action with a test-and-learn mindset; ability to operate in ambiguity and manage multiple priorities with minimal guidance.
  • Experience with business development, partner management, and/or negotiations with external sellers, brands, or vendors.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of the luxury fashion market - including key brands, product knowledge, pricing dynamics, and buyer expectations; an existing network is a plus.
  • Experience with live commerce, social commerce, or content-driven selling
  • Background in sneakers, streetwear, collectibles, or adjacent enthusiast categories
