About the Role
We are seeking a driven and mission-oriented Associate Attorney to join a fast-growing criminal defense firm in Southern and Eastern Idaho. This is an excellent opportunity to manage your own caseload, gain meaningful courtroom experience, and make a direct impact on clients' lives. In addition to criminal defense, there may be opportunities to contribute in areas such as civil rights, personal injury, or family law, depending on your skills and interests.
Our firm emphasizes collaboration, integrity, and innovation. Attorneys are empowered with autonomy while also benefiting from a supportive team culture, streamlined workflows, and systems that prioritize client service.
Key Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in criminal and civil litigation, including hearings, motions, trials, and negotiations.
  • Manage a personal caseload while serving as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Participate in regular case reviews and collaborate with colleagues to ensure strategic progress.
  • Draft motions, briefs, and discovery responses with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Respond to court deadlines and procedural requirements with professionalism.
  • Support intake consultations and early-stage case evaluations.
  • Work closely with paralegals and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
  • Maintain strict compliance with state bar ethics rules and procedural guidelines.

Qualifications
Required:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice in Idaho or eligibility to waive in.
  • Minimum 2 years of legal experience (criminal defense preferred).
  • Strong litigation and courtroom skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and legal writing abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and legal case management systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and move cases forward independently.

Preferred:
  • Experience handling misdemeanor and felony defense.
  • Motion practice or appellate writing background.
  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred).
  • Familiarity with Idaho court systems.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary (DOE).
  • Quarterly performance-based bonuses.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance options.
  • Paid holidays and generous PTO.
  • Mileage and CLE reimbursement.
  • Opportunities for career advancement in a growing firm.
  • Flexibility for limited remote work.
Additional Requirements
  • Frequent court appearances across Southern and Eastern Idaho.
  • Reliable transportation required for travel.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
