Position Summary:
The Sr Broadcast Engineer - Live Production & Media Systems is responsible for the design, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of IMG Academy's athletics broadcast and live production systems. This role serves as the primary technical owner of streaming, video, audio, and broadcast infrastructure supporting live events, practices, and special productions.
Operating within the Campus Technology group supporting the Athletics Department, this position focuses on hands-on engineering, system reliability, and technical execution rather than administrative oversight. Position Responsibilities:

  • Systems & Infrastructure Management: Own broadcast systems across venues, including IP video workflows, networking, encoders/decoders, intercom, and monitoring systems; coordinate upgrades, maintenance, and vendor integrations; partner with IT on network design, bandwidth, and security.
  • Streaming & Digital Platform Administration: Manage athletics website CMS as it relates to media and broadcast; maintain integrations between streaming platforms and web properties; ensure accurate publishing of schedules and video content; troubleshoot playback and performance issues.
  • Standards, Documentation & Training: Develop SOPs, documentation, and engineering standards; train staff and users on production workflows and equipment usage.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as primary liaison across Athletics, IT, Marketing, and external partners; translate operational needs into technical solutions and support cross-functional initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience; 3-7 years in broadcast engineering, live production, or streaming environments.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of video/audio signal flow, sync, IP-based media systems, and streaming protocols; hands-on experience with professional broadcast equipment and live production systems.
  • Problem Solving & Execution: Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in live, high-pressure environments; strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders; strong communication and partnership skills.
  • Additional Strengths: Experience in athletics or multi-event environments preferred; familiarity with system integration, vendor management, and stream performance optimization tools.
  • Work Requirements: Availability for evenings and weekends to support live events.
