Job description

On behalf of our partner company, Freeman Jet, LLC., we are seeking an entry-level Aircraft Restoration & Maintenance Technician to support a complex 12 - 24 month Grumman Albatross aircraft restoration and maintenance project. In this role, you will work under the supervision of the Lead Technician to assist with hands-on restoration, component maintenance, and general shop operations.
If you are a motivated individual with a passion for aviation, a strong desire to learn, and the dedication to support a high-quality restoration project, we want to hear from you. We are looking for someone eager to gain hands-on experience and grow within a team-oriented environment.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned as required by management)
  • Technical Support & Maintenance Assistance:
    • Assist Lead Technician with structural repairs, component overhauls, and general aircraft maintenance tasks.
    • Perform basic sheet metal preparation, cleaning, and disassembly of aircraft components under direct supervision.
    • Learn to read and interpret basic technical manuals, structural repair manuals (SRMs), and engineering drawings to support restoration goals.

  • Documentation & Shop Operations:
    • Maintain accurate records of work performed, assisting in the preparation of logbook entries and discrepancy sheets for review by senior staff.
    • Monitor and organize shop supplies, hardware, and raw materials; notify the Lead of replenishment needs to avoid project delays.
    • Ensure the workspace remains clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards at all times.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Required
  • Current A&P license or recent graduate of an FAA-approved A&P program.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in aircraft restoration and maintenance.
  • Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Basic computer literacy for logging work and tracking parts.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and an eagerness to learn under the guidance of senior mechanics.
  • Must have your own basic set of hand tools.
  • Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Preferred
  • Familiarity with aircraft sheet metal tools and basic fabrication.
  • Previous internship or hands-on experience working with classic or general aviation aircraft.

Pay Rate: $25 - $45 per hour, depending on skill level and schedule flexibility.
