Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
Maintains control of stock or materials on hand (or on order) within the Company, controlling freight. Furnishes data as needed to forecast and prepare warehouse and schedules of goods in process, and needs for future production or use. Takes periodic physical inventory, prepares reports as needed, and keeps inventory records.

PRINCIPAL TASKS

  • Coordinates the put-away process for inbound shipments including returns. Performs quality check on all inbound product once unloaded. Ensures product is unloaded in the proper quantities (stack heights/quantity per stack).
  • Allocation of warehouse space for inbound product. Process bin to bin transfers in Oracle as necessary. Print Stock on Hand report daily to confirm product quantities. Confirm product is put in correct locations within the warehouse.
  • Assist the floor supervisor in daily duties, and responsible for training warehouse employees to keep the warehouse clean and organized.
  • Responsible for any other additional duties as assigned by Management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
WORK EXPERIENCE: One to two (1 - 2) years experience in a distribution environment, preferably in the automotive or tire industry.
ACADEMIC/TRAINING: A High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Must be a Certified Forklift Driver.
SKILLS: Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), as well as Oracle, detail oriented and self motivated. Must be extremely organized and able to handle multiple projects at one time.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to stand, sit, move, and use fingers for extended periods of time, stoop, bending, stooping, and reaching. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for long periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is typical of a distribution warehouse environment where the air is not controlled, with moving forklifts and trucks moving up to loading docks. Strong smell of tires, forklifts and tractor trailer trucks.
