Summary: The Quality Control Technician provides technical support to the Quality Control Inspection Team. The Quality Control Technician performs Incoming, In-process and Postproduction Inspection of product to ensure compliance with approved specifications. Additionally, the Quality Control Technician performs assigned tasks to support the timely processing of Non-Conformances, Customer Complaints and Reports.
Essential Duties amp; Responsibilities:
  • Performs setup and troubleshooting for Quality Inspection Process and Equipment as needed in order to support timely and effective Quality Control Inspections.
  • Performs Incoming, In-Process and Postproduction Inspections to include verifying inspection and manufacturing records for completeness and accuracy and records inspection results on approved forms.
  • Performs Root Cause investigations in order to properly identify resolution of Corrective/ Preventive Actions, as well as Customer Complaints and Non-Conformances.
  • Supports Quality Engineering Team through performance of testing, inspections and data collection in order to assist Quality Engineers in the completion of Validations, Gage R amp;Rโ€™s, OQโ€™s, PQโ€™s etc.
  • Assist with Quality Control Inspection Training.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Sevaral years of related Quality experience or related position in a controlled environment.
  • Ability to read/write/understand English. Ability to read, write, and interpret all PPC documents including safety rules, operational instructions, procedure manuals, and SDS sheets.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals as well as measure in English and metric measurements.
  • General understanding of statistical techniques, analysis, trending and data evaluation.
  • Ability to effectively use and/or learn Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, as well as PPCโ€™s computer software for quality and production.
  • Able to:
    1. Perform several tasks concurrently. Good time management skills.
    2. Work in all PPC locations. Where and when applicable.
    3. Identify and implement effective adult training strategies appropriate for employees.
    4. Communicate effectively and demonstrate sensitivity to target audience.
    5. Encourage team and staff, as well as to mentor efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degreed, with some previous years of related experience.
  • Applicable professional certifications (Certifications in Quality, ASQ Certified Quality Technician).
  • General understanding of: Quality standards and testing techniques; Root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques.
  • Previous experience with ISO, FDA, and/or cGMP.
  • Mechanical aptitude to operate and troubleshoot machinery.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to input, handle or feel, use of arms to reach, able to hear and talk.
  • Must possess fine hand motor skills to handle small manufacturing tools, QC tools and fine product. Ability to raise arms above shoulder height.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Required to stand/walk for majority of an 8-hour work shift and lift/push/pull up to 50lbs occasionally throughout work shift.
  • Must be able to use hand tools including but not limited to scissors, pliers, razor blades, wire snips.
  • Works on a manufacturing floor. Overtime will be required including weekends.
  • Cross training.
  • Some travel, including between PPC owned properties is required. Able to work in different locations within the company.
