Zalk Josephs Fabricators has been in the structural steel fabrication business for over a century and supplies structural steel across the Midwest. The Zalk Josephs team has built their reputation on proven performance and meeting their customer's stringent demands at highly competitive prices.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform daily visual and dimensional inspections of structural steel
  • Maintain welder certification testing per the requirements of AWS D1.1
  • Administer and evaluate weld tests
  • Read and interpret fabrication shop drawings
  • Review and update company control processes, procedures, and specifications
  • Perform testing of structural bolts per RCSC
  • Coordinate and work with outside customer inspectors to perform NDT inspections
  • Maintain company Quality Assurance Manual to meet AISC accreditation standards

Minimum Requirements
  • Performs additional quality related projects and completes all other duties as assigned.
  • Highly organized, thorough, and detail-oriented with ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to communicate with personnel at all organizational levels.

Preferred Requirements
  • Holds a current certificate as an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with D1.1 certification.
  • 5+ years of relative experience with structural steel welding inspections.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as with customers and vendors.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Familiar with Bluebeam Revu.
  • Familiar with Tekla (Fabsuite).
