Responsibilities
  • Manage both acute and chronic illnesses, from common conditions like hypertension and diabetes to complex multi-system diseases.
  • Perform thorough physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and adjust treatment plans as patient needs evolve.
  • Educating patients on healthy lifestyles, recommending screenings, and administering vaccinations to reduce disease risk and detect conditions early.
  • Coordinate care for patients with multiple chronic conditions to integrate treatment plans.
  • Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
  • Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
  • Regular and prompt attendance
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
  • Related duties as assigned

Additional Information

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama Required
  • Completion of an approved nurse practitioner training program Required
  • NPC - Certified Nurse Practitioner Required and
  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner with the State of Alabama Required and
  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Required
  • Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
