Position Overview

We are seeking a high-performing, driven Business Development Manager (BDM) specializing in Air Freight Forwarding and Third-Party Logistics (3PL) to drive revenue growth in the New York metropolitan market. The ideal candidate possesses a proven track record of securing mid-to-large market shippers, leveraging a deep understanding of international air freight networks, domestic gateways, and supply chain fulfillment solutions. You will be responsible for hunting new business, building strategic carrier relationships, and designing custom multi-modal logistics solutions for global clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Sales Growth: Actively prospect, cold-call, and qualify leads to build a robust pipeline of air freight and 3PL warehousing opportunities in the Northeast region.
  • Solution Selling: Design and pitch comprehensive supply chain solutions, integrating international air import/export logistics, customs clearance, and domestic 3PL fulfillment services.
  • Manage RFPs & Quoting: Lead RFP responses, negotiate spot rates and contract pricing with clients, and collaborate with internal pricing teams to maximize gross profit margins.
  • Client Retention: Onboard new accounts seamlessly and conduct regular business reviews to identify cross-selling opportunities across ocean, ground, and air modes.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor global air cargo capacity, airline schedules, and local JFK/EWR gateway trends to advise clients strategically on market volatility.
