Overview

Ferrellgas is looking for a unique, combo position-part Material Handler, part DOT driver support. If you like variety, this job gives you both: you'll inspect, fill, and load propane cylinders, and you'll also step in on deliveries when the team needs an extra hand. It's honest, hands-on work where you stay busy , moving and make a real impact. You'll need (or be willing to get a a CDL A or B with hazmat and tanker, be comfortable lifting heavy cylinders, and be the kind of person who can work independently and get the job done right. This is a part-time role and hours will vary based on location.

Responsibilities
  • Inspects, repairs, fills and loads cylinders.
  • Handles and maintains flow of materials and products under safety guidelines.
  • Scrape and paint cylinders and tanks as needed.
  • Maintains service center office, plant and yard for a professional appearance.
  • Promotes safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Based on business needs and qualifications, the Material Handler- DOT would also be required to:
    • Load, secure, transports, delivery, and unloads propane to and from specified destinations

    • Follow DOT related safety procedures including safety inspections on equipment, supplies, and vehicles

    • Ensures all DOT requirements are always met.

    • Performs responsibilities in on-call rotation for after hours and weekend emergency deliveries or response

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ years' of related work experience.
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • Must pass background check and drug screen
  • Genuine commitment to providing superior customer service.
  • Class A or B CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements preferred or willingness and ability to obtain license in a quick and timely manner
  • Ability to pass DOT physical and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States
  • Applicants must not now, or any time in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.
