Paid Dealer School training starts on Monday, September 14th and lasts 6 weeks. Upon successful completion of training, passing an audition and obtaining the required PGCB gaming license you will be guaranteed a position as a part-time Table Games Dealer!ย 

Weekends and holiday availability is required.ย 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for attending classes per training schedule to learn the rules of the game, how to deal a variety of games, with a goal to transition to the Dealer position working in a live gaming environment.ย  The Dealer Trainee will understand and be able to provide a memorable table games experience for guests while protecting assets and following PGCB regulations, internal controls and standard operating procedures upon completion of training.

  • ย Will learn the operation and conduct of a particular table game.
  • Will be able to quickly tabulate the numeric value of playing card totals, dice throws, etc. ย Will become knowledgeable of poker rankings.
  • Will be able to inspect and shuffle a (1) single and up to eight (8) multiple decks of cards in a timely manner and learn how to operate an automatic shuffling device. ย Must become proficient at shuffling.
  • Audibly announces all hand totals, currency conversions to gaming chips, color changes, and all other pertinent information that transpires during the course of gaming activity as if on a live game.
  • Will understand the importance and be able to maintain and protect the bankroll at all times.
  • Will handle training chips in order to pay and take in a proficient manner.
  • Will learn and follow regulations, policies and procedures in the performance of duties.
  • Will be able to demonstrate how to provide quality customer service to all guests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities.

LANGUAGE ABILITY

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as commissions and percentages.ย  Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical theory.ย 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.ย 

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

At the completion of Dealer training, must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board and be CPR certified prior to transitioning to a Table Games Dealer position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED preferred.ย  Must successfully complete Dealer School including satisfactory attendance based on the training schedule.ย  Prior to entry in the training class must pass a basic math assessment for speed and accuracy performing basic math calculations.ย  Must satisfactorily pass a gaming audition administered the Table Games Trainer or Table Games Floor Supervisor or higher to verify that the applicant is knowledgeable in technical skills, game pace, awareness of game protection responsibilities, and is able to follow instruction and can do so while interacting with guests to generate fun and excitement.ย
