SEO Strategist – Transportation & Logistics

Position Overview

We are seeking a results-driven SEO Strategist to develop and execute an organic search strategy for a growing transportation and logistics company. This role will be responsible for increasing search visibility, generating qualified B2B leads, improving website performance, and establishing the company as a trusted authority across transportation, freight, logistics, and supply-chain services.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical SEO knowledge with content strategy, keyword research, analytics, and an understanding of how businesses in the transportation and logistics industry acquire customers.

Key Responsibilities

•    Develop and execute a comprehensive SEO strategy aligned with company revenue and lead-generation goals.

•    Conduct keyword research focused on transportation, freight, trucking, logistics, warehousing, 3PL, and related services.

•    Identify high-value commercial and local search opportunities based on customer intent and geographic markets.

•    Optimize website pages, including service pages, location pages, landing pages, blog content, metadata, headings, internal links, and URLs.

•    Develop and manage an SEO-driven content strategy that supports the customer journey from awareness through conversion.

•    Build strategies for local SEO, including service-area pages, location optimization, and business listings.

•    Conduct technical SEO audits and work with web developers to resolve indexing, crawlability, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, and other technical issues.

•    Develop internal linking and topical-authority strategies to improve rankings and user experience.

•    Monitor competitors and identify keyword, content, backlink, and market opportunities.

•    Analyze organic traffic, rankings, conversions, engagement, and lead quality using SEO and analytics platforms.

•    Track performance and provide regular reports with actionable recommendations.

•    Stay current with Google algorithm updates, AI-powered search, SERP changes, and evolving SEO best practices.

•    Collaborate with marketing, sales, web development, and operations teams to ensure SEO supports broader business objectives.

•    Continuously test and refine SEO initiatives based on performance data.

Qualifications

•    3+ years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably in B2B, transportation, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, or another competitive service industry.

•    Strong understanding of technical, on-page, off-page, and local SEO.

•    Proven experience with keyword research and search-intent analysis.

•    Experience developing SEO content strategies for lead generation.

•    Proficiency with tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics/GA4, Semrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, or comparable platforms.

•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•    Ability to translate SEO data into clear business recommendations.

•    Experience working with CMS platforms such as WordPress or comparable systems.

•    Understanding of schema markup, structured data, redirects, canonicalization, indexing, and site architecture.

Preferred Qualifications
