Position Overview:

Poole Huffman is seeking a Business Litigation Attorney to handle sophisticated, high-stakes commercial disputes while serving as a trusted advisor to business owners, executives, and other decision-makers. This attorney will have meaningful autonomy over matters, work directly with clients, and contribute to the growth of the firm's business litigation practice. The ideal candidate combines strong litigation skills with sound business judgment, entrepreneurial instincts, and a genuine interest in developing long-term client relationships.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage complex business and commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Develop case strategies and provide practical, business-focused legal advice to clients.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, hearings, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Handle matters involving breach of contract, business torts, fraud, fiduciary duties, partnership/shareholder disputes, real estate, and other commercial conflicts.
  • Conduct and oversee legal research, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Communicate directly with business owners, executives, investors, and other sophisticated decision-makers.
  • Assess legal, financial, operational, and reputational risks and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to resolve disputes efficiently while maintaining a strong position for litigation when necessary.
  • Build and maintain long‑term client relationships and become a trusted advisor beyond individual matters.
Job Requirements (Including Education):
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Georgia Bar and in good standing.
  • 3+ years of experience in business, commercial, or complex civil litigation.
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing significant litigation matters.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Experience communicating directly with sophisticated clients and business decision-makers.
  • Strong judgment, organizational skills, and ability to manage matters with significant autonomy.
  • Ability to balance legal strategy with the client's broader business objectives.
