A Personal Care Attendant enables patients to stay in their homes by assisting them with the activities of daily living as well as performing light housekeeping, and other at home support services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • NM State Driver’s License
  • 18 years old
  • Current automobile insurance

Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and time-management skills
  • Compassionate and friendly demeanor
  • Demonstrated ability to document accurately.
  • Must be detail oriented, flexible, and organized.
  • Must demonstrate professional behavior and emotional control.
  • Ability to assist patients in learning appropriate self-care techniques.
  • Completes agency competencies upon hire and annually.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports patients by providing housekeeping and laundry services, and other household requirements; preparing and serving meals and snacks; running errands.
  • Assists patients by providing personal services, such as, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Records patient information by making entries in the patient journal; notifying nursing supervisor of changing or unusual conditions.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Protects the home care agency by adhering to professional standards, home care policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
