Liquid Plant Operators are professionals responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of equipment at facilities that process and handle liquids, such as water treatment plants, chemical plants, or oil refineries. Their duties include monitoring systems, adjusting controls, conducting routine inspections, and ensuring safety and environmental regulations are followed. They also troubleshoot issues, collect samples for analysis, and maintain records of plant operations. This role requires technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly to operational problems.

What does a liquid plant operator do?

A typical shift for a Liquid Plant Operator involves monitoring and controlling the equipment that processes and transfers liquids, performing inspections, recording operational data, and responding to alarms or system changes. Liquid Plant Operator

Location: Burley, Idaho Employment type: Full-time, hourly (non-exempt) Pay range: $18.00 โ€“ $24.00/hour, depending on level and experience Reports to: Liquid Plant Supervisor

About the Role

We're hiring a Liquid Plant Operator to help run day-to-day operations at our liquid blending facility โ€” moving product in and out, mixing and blending to spec, and keeping the plant clean, safe, and running.

What You'll Do
  • Unload rail cars, trucks, and tanks; load trucks, tanks, and totes
  • Operate forklifts and telehandlers
  • Learn and operate mixers, starting with smaller or simpler units
  • Log transfer volumes and inventory counts accurately
  • Select and use appropriate PPE; follow basic spill response protocols
  • Identify common fittings, valves, and pump types to support maintenance work
  • Maintain the plant and assist with projects and general housekeeping
  • Operate large mixers โ€” often several at once โ€” with little to no direct oversight, and blend accurately to spec
  • Perform all mathematical computations required to adjust batch sizes
  • Work return product back into batches to use up aging inventory in straightforward situations
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance (PMs) on pumps, valves, and seals without supervision
  • Identify bottlenecks in the loading and unloading process and suggest throughput improvements
  • Take the lead on small to medium plant projects
  • Assist in training new employees
  • Provide coverage for higher-level operators as needed
What We're Looking For
  • Some prior work experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or agricultural setting
  • At least one year of blending or plant experience/
  • At least one full season of plant operations experience preferred
  • Willingness to learn mixing equipment, forklifts, and telehandlers
  • Comfortable running multiple mixers independently and doing batch math on the fly
  • Careful, accurate, and detail-oriented โ€” batch accuracy and inventory logs matter
  • Safety-minded, dependable, and a good teammate
  • Able to work extended hours during peak season
  • Valid driver's license
Work Environment amp; Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on plant role. You'll work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and temperatures, around noise, dust, and chemical products. The role requires standing, walking, climbing ladders and stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Required PPE is provided. Hours increase during peak season and may include overtime and occasional weekends.

What We Offer
  • Hourly pay of $18 โ€“ $24 depending on level and experience, plus overtime during peak season
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and holidays
