Job Description:

Quevera is seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Administrator with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to support mission-critical programs in Hanover, MD. In this role, you will administer and maintain secure Linux-based cloud environments while supporting enterprise infrastructure, system security, and operational reliability for critical national security missions.

Working alongside a collaborative engineering team, you will manage Red Hat Linux virtual machines hosted in cloud environments, support system patching and compliance initiatives, administer customer systems, and deploy enterprise applications and monitoring tools. You'll help ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing infrastructure while supporting day-to-day operational success.

As a Linux Systems Administrator, you'll have the opportunity to work with modern cloud technologies, collaborate with experienced engineers, and contribute to secure infrastructure solutions supporting mission-critical environments.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Create, configure, and maintain Red Hat Linux virtual machines within cloud-based environments.
  • Perform Linux command-line system administration tasks on enterprise virtual machines.
  • Evaluate systems for IAVA compliance and apply required security patches and updates.
  • Perform routine system patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
  • Administer and validate system backup and recovery processes through regular backup testing.
  • Troubleshoot server and infrastructure issues to ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Administer customer accounts and provide system administration support.
  • Deploy and maintain enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Deploy applications and supporting software across enterprise environments.
  • Collaborate with software developers and DevOps engineers to support application and infrastructure needs.
  • Assist with escalated customer support requests.
  • Perform installation and cabling of hardware and equipment as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
  • Experience performing Linux command-line system administration using CentOS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Amazon Linux, or equivalent Linux distributions.
  • Experience applying system updates using YUM or equivalent patch management repositories.
  • Experience working within cloud environments, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or equivalent virtualized cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience or knowledge of the RedSeal Network Mapping tool.
  • Knowledge of enterprise software platforms, including Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, and Apache NiFi.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Syslog or NxLog.
  • Experience with Nagios or similar infrastructure monitoring applications.
  • Experience developing automation or administrative scripts using Python or Perl.
