Job description

Job Summary:
Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. They are seeking a Network Professional 1 to support a complex accredited network, implementing and maintaining networked systems while ensuring compliance with security requirements.
Responsibilities:
• support a complex accredited network providing Windows and Linux computing for multiple Strategic Intelligence Partnership Projects
• implementing and maintaining networked systems, including configuration of network devices
• supporting / troubleshooting network problems
• working with the Linux Team and Windows Team to ensure systems stay operational and mission-ready
• close integration with Cybersecurity for process execution in compliance with security requirements
Qualifications:
Required:
• Knowledge of requirements definition and design experience in enterprise TCP/IP networks
• Knowledge of network protocols including routing protocols such as BGP, RIP, and ECMP
• Proven track record working effectively in a team environment, including addressing interpersonal issues and interacting with customers and peers in a professional and responsive manner
• Experience with triaging or assisting end users and helpdesk personnel troubleshoot issues related to networking
• Position requires an Associate's Degree and 2 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
• Q clearance required
Preferred:
• Experience performing systems administration or networking in a classified environment
• Experience with Cisco hardware or COMSEC
• Experience with systems hardening, including implementation of controls under NIST 800-53 and Security Technical Implementation Guidelines
• Active Q clearance or DoD Top Secret SCI
