Job description

Role Overview: Tesla is seeking an early-career IT Manufacturing Support Technician to provide hands-on technology and operational support at Gigafactory Nevada. This position is ideal for candidates with foundational IT knowledge, strong technical curiosity, and a desire to build real-world experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role will focus on hardware inventory management, equipment preparation, imaging, basic troubleshooting, equipment deployment, and storage organization. Technicians will work side-by-side with experienced Tesla IT professionals, gaining valuable exposure to IT support, networking, Windows and Linux systems, industrial computers, printers, scanners, camera systems, and end-user support. While certain higher-level responsibilities will be limited due to account access restrictions, strong performers will have opportunities to shadow experienced technicians and expand their technical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with organizing, laying out, and operationalizing Tesla's newly acquired IT storage space.
  • Integrate hardware and equipment into Tesla's inventory management system.
  • Support daily IT Manufacturing Support operations alongside technicians.
  • Assist with general IT break/fix activities under team guidance.
  • Prepare, image, label, audit, and stage IT equipment for deployment.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and document returned or failed hardware.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and organized storage areas.
  • Support Windows and Linux imaging processes.
  • Use basic Windows and Linux commands to complete assigned tasks.
  • Learn and apply basic networking concepts including IP addressing, subnets, VLANs, and network hardware identification.
  • Assist with industrial PCs, printers, scanners, camera systems, and related manufacturing technology.
  • Provide end-user support and assist with application-related requests when appropriate.
  • Deliver equipment to Tesla facilities and teams as required.
  • Shadow experienced technicians on advanced troubleshooting and technical projects.

What You'll Learn & Gain Exposure To

  • Basic understanding of networking, switches, IDFs, and Cat6 cabling.
  • Experience imaging, repairing, deploying, or supporting technical equipment.
  • Experience with asset management, warehouse operations, or order fulfillment.
  • Exposure to camera installation, NUC assembly, hardware repair, or 3D printing is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation to the Gigafactory Nevada location.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.50/hr.
