Operational responsibilities include remediation of daily incident tickets, system compliance, system run enhancement, testing, staging, policy/procedure enhancement, client contact coordination, and operational recommendations to address availability and reliability issues on Linux systems, while playing a lead role in shaping Linux systems strategy across the company.

This role splits its time between the Business Availability team - designing highly available Linux and Unix infrastructure and reducing reliance on planned maintenance windows - and the Disaster Recovery practice, ensuring Linux solutions are validated against recovery objectives.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develops migration strategies, implementation roadmaps, and associated bills of materials for Linux and Unix environments.

  • Ensures proposed Linux solutions can be effectively integrated into the Disaster Recovery practice.

  • Collaborates with account teams to gather operational knowledge and support transition planning.

Disaster Recovery Responsibilities

  • Participates in design reviews to validate that Linux solutions can meet recovery objectives.

  • Reviews and maintains DR documentation, runbooks, and supporting artifacts for Linux systems.

  • Supports coordination and execution of planned DR testing activities.

  • Monitors and evaluates Linux DR infrastructure capacity across on-premises and cloud environments.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

  • BA/BS degree and 8+ years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Expert-level expertise in Linux systems administration and enterprise infrastructure design.

  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and advise across the organization on complex, business-critical issues.

  • Experience with Red Hat Linux, including KVM and clustering.

  • Experience with AIX.

  • Familiarity with Unix.

  • Familiarity with VMware.

  • Familiarity with disaster recovery and high availability in cloud environments - Oracle OCI and Microsoft Azure.

  • U.S. Citizenship and U.S. residency required.
