Job description

We are looking for an experienced Linux Administrator to manage, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot enterprise Linux server environments. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, system administration, patching, storage, networking, monitoring, security, and automation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain Linux servers including RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, and SUSE.
  • Perform OS upgrades, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening.
  • Manage Linux users, groups, permissions, sudo access, SSH, processes, and services.
  • Manage file systems, partitions, LVM, disk utilization, NFS, and storage mounts.
  • Monitor server availability, performance, capacity, CPU, memory, disk, and network utilization.
  • Troubleshoot Linux OS, application, storage, networking, and authentication issues.
  • Configure and manage services including SSH, DNS, DHCP, NFS, FTP, Apache, Nginx, and Tomcat.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents and resolve issues within defined SLAs.
  • Manage package installation and updates using YUM, DNF, and APT.
  • Develop and maintain Shell/Bash scripts to automate routine administrative tasks.
  • Use Ansible for configuration management, patching, provisioning, and automation.
  • Support backup, restore, disaster recovery, and high-availability activities.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Linux networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, and connectivity.
  • Implement security controls including SELinux, firewalld, SSH hardening, access controls, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Work with monitoring and logging tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar platforms.
  • Support Linux environments running on VMware, cloud platforms, and virtual infrastructure.
  • Participate in incident, problem, change, and release management processes.
  • Maintain SOPs, runbooks, configuration documentation, and technical procedures.
Required Skills
  • 4+ years of hands-on Linux System Administration experience.
  • Strong experience with RHEL / Red Hat Linux administration.
  • Good knowledge of CentOS, Ubuntu, and/or SUSE Linux.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux file systems, LVM, partitions, permissions, processes, and services.
  • Experience with Shell/Bash scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible.
  • Strong understanding of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SSH, NFS, and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with YUM/DNF/APT package management.
  • Knowledge of SELinux, firewalld, systemd, cron, and log management.
  • Experience with Linux patching, upgrades, hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills.
  • Experience supporting production environments and enterprise infrastructure.
Preferred Skills
  • RHCSA / RHCE certification.
  • Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP Linux workloads.
  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
