Job Description:

Quevera is seeking a skilled Linux System Administrator with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to support mission-critical programs in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. In this role, you will administer and maintain enterprise Linux environments while supporting secure, high-availability infrastructure that enables critical national security missions.

Working alongside a collaborative engineering team, you will manage Linux systems, enterprise storage, backup and recovery solutions, vulnerability management, and system security. You'll help optimize system performance, maintain compliance with security standards, and support infrastructure modernization through proactive system administration and continuous improvement.

As a Linux System Administrator, you'll have the opportunity to support enterprise infrastructure, solve complex technical challenges, and contribute to secure, resilient, and high-performing environments while expanding your expertise in Linux administration, storage management, and enterprise security.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise Linux systems in a production environment.
  • Manage and support IBM Enterprise Storage solutions to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Veritas NetBackup for enterprise backup and recovery operations.
  • Perform Linux system patching and package management using YUM repositories.
  • Execute vulnerability scans using Nessus and remediate findings to maintain compliance with organizational security standards.
  • Support and maintain STE/STIN processes and environments.
  • Implement and maintain Linux security configurations, system hardening, and NSF security frameworks and policies.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and availability while identifying opportunities for optimization.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and perform root cause analysis to ensure reliable operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure upgrades, audits, and incident response activities.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, operational procedures, and compliance documentation.
  • Perform system optimization, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Conduct routine health checks and proactively identify potential risks, issues, and improvement opportunities.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Three (3) or more years of Linux system administration experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, or similar Linux distributions.
  • Experience administering IBM Enterprise Storage systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Veritas NetBackup administration.
  • Experience with Nessus vulnerability scanning and remediation.
  • Proficiency with YUM package management and Linux patching strategies.
  • Familiarity with STE/STIN processes and NSF-related security frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of Linux security, system hardening, and compliance best practices.
  • Experience with Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting enterprise environments with high availability and disaster recovery requirements.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or similar configuration management platforms.
  • Exposure to cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments.
