Job description

Research Assistant - Dr. Zhang

Salary/Position Classification
  • $18.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 5-10 hours per week
  • 100% Remote Work Availability: No
  • Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No
Purpose of Position
  • This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Learn high performance computing environment, Linux operating system, and numerical methods and simulation workflows needed for the research work
  • Prepare and setup simulation including geometry and mesh generation
  • Perform numerical simulations using in-house developed computer code
  • Process simulation results, create research report and write research paper for publication.
Minimum Requirements
  • Able to work independently and remain task-driven
  • Good computer programming skills
  • Knowledge of computer simulation.
  • Completed course work in ME306 and ME341.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
